A few months ago, the Church where Design for Living meets (Thursday & Saturday nights) implemented a no smoking rule on church property. Since then, we have allowed members to smoke on the sidewalk bordering the street. We now find it necessary to ban smoking everywhere, including the parking lot and sidewalk in front of the property. This is due to littering (cigarette butts littering church property along the road) and safety concerns of members standing in driveway and huddling that close to Johnston Street. If someone chooses to smoke anywhere on or in front of church property they will be asked to leave. This decision is necessary to retain the privilege of using the property for meetings, as well as for the safety of all. Thank you for your cooperation.
If you haven’t heard, A Design for Living group has joined Hub City in using a facility that bans smoking on the entire grounds, including their parking lot. We have a flyer about the situation at Design to share with your groups and include in your announcements folder. Download it here. Please respect these restrictions.
